Dd7 wants a Laura Ingall's type apron, and I'd like to find a dress for her also. Nothing at the various sites has struck our fancy. Any nice apron sites out there? I've been to the modest clothing site, but "meh" --nothing yet.
Are we just too picky?

Do you mean a pinafore? We bought a prairie dress with pinafore, bloomers, and a bonnet from a site called Kings Daughters (or something like that) a few years ago.

Thanks j.giff. She wants an apron that she can wear when she's cooking, but also, I think, wants a "dress up like LIngalls" apron. We were looking at some Mennonite sites, but yikes! 40 bucks is too much. I'll check out King's Daughters--we saw some of their stuff online at a modesty site.

She advertises on vegsource.
I've bought dresses from her and have been very pleased with the quality.

If you'd like, I can send you DD's old outfit, I can't remember if she was 8 or 10 when we bought the set though, and there are no "sizes" or "tags" on the items.

Click on Pattern #213. There is dress, pinafore, and bonnet.

Unfortunately, this would mean sewing...my nemesis. But thanks for the neat link!

We do Rev War re-enactments and buy our stuff from J Townsend http://jas-townsend.com/. I find them reasonably priced.

I ordered a colonial dress for my dd from Ashley's Playmates or also known as Ashley's Attic. Cheri (the seamstress) is a WONDERFUL lady. I needed the dress fairly quickly for my dd's birthday and she got it done for me. I really can't say enough good things about her. I also got dresses for my dd's knock off American Girl doll. You could not beat the price. You can email her at Ashleysplaymates@aol.com and you can see some of her dresses on Vegsource - http://www.vegsource.com/homeschool/fsmisc/messages/12165.html

Thanks everyone. I will see what dd might want. Now she's saying she wants it for a Halloween costume.
JG, thanks for your offer. I really appreciate that. I think I am going to wait until August in case dd's size changes.
