What is your opinions on the Writing Strands "Evaluating Writing" book? It has one bad review on Amazon, but the review wasn't all that specific.

I read it at the time I was trying to make Writing Strands work for us, and generally feeling poor about teaching writing. I didn't find it very helpful and have since sold the book. I'm afraid I can't remember much about it specifically, though.

I have the older version of this book, and I don't find it very helpful. I probably still have it because I was unable to sell it. It is 94 pages long, and the table of contents includes the following:

Some Conditions That Make Hard the Teaching of Writing (that's exactly how it's worded)
Common Writing Problems and How to Correct Them
What to Look for When You Read Your Child's Writing
Student Writing and Comments
Using Writing Strands Skills in Other Subjects
Appendix
Rules for Drafting
Spelling Rules
Scope & Sequence for Writing Strands
Index

If you have any specific questions, let me know I'll look it up for you.
