What would you consider in terms of being successful in spelling? Ds9 is a struggling speller, but he does fairly well on his tests. He is doing SWO C and usually misses 1-4 on his tests. After he takes his test we go over the rule, he corrects it, and then practices spelling them again with me. All my other dc usually make 100 on their tests so I'm just wondering if this would be considered to be not working for him. I was considering a switch to the Sound Foundations spelling, but haven't made up my mind yet. What do you consider to be working for your dc?

and this year I have added Spelling Wisdom to her spelling program. SW uses dictation for spelling development. So, she does her other program 3x and dictation from SW 2x. She now prefers dictation and I think it is a great method of improving spelling because it puts the words in context of real writing. I am now seeing improvement in the way she spells in her everyday writing and, to me, that is the real indicator of success and improvement in spelling. :)
