Hey, I got to meet Karin yesterday and she too is even better IRL than on the boards. Her children are a delight and she grows great vegetables, for which I thank her again.
It was indeed fun.

Me. But, I'd be too intimidated to meet her face-to-face. ;)

Must've been fun! I'd try to soak up all her knowledge if I met her.

I was blessed enough to meet Jane a few yrs ago. Yes, she is delightful in person. I have also had the great pleasure of meeting Kathy in Richmond. I wish Jane and Kathy could meet b/c I know that they would thoroughly enjoy talking with eachother!!

Oh my - I wish I could meet Jane and Karin and Laura and lots of the moms here!! I thoroughly enjoyed meeting momof7 last week. She's just as amazing in person as she is on these boards, and she's got the most beautiful and well-behaved children:001_smile:.

Yes!!:D
Did she sport any of her sewing projects?? They're really pretty.
Hope you're enjoying your summer up north, Jane!

Am I the only one who has entertained the notion of a grown up sleepover with lots of cool WTM moms? It is fun to have faces and voices to go with names. I was sorry to have missed the Williamsburg event, but my motivation for going would have been totally social given where we are in this homeschool process (my son is in 12th grade).
There are a number of reasons why I will not walk away from the boards when the homeschool journey is finished. Down the road I may actually have more time to comment on math or self education. But virtual friendships will also be an attraction. I have loved reading of the accomplishments of students on these boards and cheering from the sidelines.
Hoping that other paths may cross,
Jane

I've actually OFFERED to host a big sleepover at my house and tried to get one organized before. I have plenty of space, and would love to have everyone over! Now I have a wedding in January, but after that, I'm all yours. Maybe we can get together next spring?

Hey! Hey! You guys organized a meeting without inviting the rest of us?! ;) Envious here -- but maybe we can all go to LoriM's this spring... Hey Lori, will your big house hold several hundred WTMers? :tongue_smilie:
Warmest regards, Lori D.

And the problem with that would be........??:D It still would have been fun to meet you there, even if you are almost done - the teaching was awesome, BUT so was the social part for me - oh, just to meet some other very like-minded Moms was a huge boost to me!

:hurray::hurray::hurray: I'd hate to not see you here - you've been a help to me!

I'd like to meet Jane in NC (in NC, of course) and Nan in Mass (in Mass, of course) and Jean in Wisc (in ... you get the picture by now!) and so many others.
I was delighted to meet Nicole M last year when she hosted my daughter and me on our trip to visit the college at which she works. That was fun!
And, yes, a sleepover sounds great!
Regards,
Kareni

I assume it will...I'm hosting 12 middle school boys this week. Isn't that the same thing?

Yea, but hopefully we won't involve so many bodily noises or smelly gym shoes!

Well, I highly doubt anyone would actually sleep at a sleepover;). There's be so much talking to do.
Jane's ds is wonderful. My 14 yo paid him the highest compliment (not to his face, of course) she'll pay any male teen right now, which was "he wasn't annoying."
I don't know if Jane was wearing her sewing creations as we were very casual and I didn't realize she sews. There are others I'd like to meet, including Nan in Mass who actually lives in the same state as I do. In the past I've met Nadia (knew her IRL before joining these boards when we used to live in the same area and she had only 6 dc), Jeri (who lives in Europe now & doesn't post on the hs board ETA I meant the high school forum and was mistaken--see below) and the former Charlotte of Spain (now she lives in the US and I don't know if she joined this forum.) So far that's all I know that I've met.

Very much so! I would love to meet Jane in NC, but I have to admit I'd probably be a little intimidated by all the math intelligence! Yet she is such a warm and down-to-earth person on these boards that I'm sure she'd make us all feel welcome.
I second the idea of a WTM sleepover or for SWB to host another conference. I'd love to meet Nan in Mass., Jean in Wisc., LoriM and Lori D, Karin, and many others!
Just from Germany ;)

Of course you post. It's Charlotte that I don't think posts any more. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant that I thought you didn't post on the high school forum (hs forum), and was mistaken!!!!!
