First Language Lessons where to begin?

I am beginning First Language Lessons with a first and second grader. With my second grader, should I go back to the first grade section to let him memorize the poems, do the copywork, etc that my first grader will be doing? I am just not sure where to begin. Thanks!

because we began HSing that year. I started at the beginning but moved faster than I would have if she were younger. There is much repitition in the first half, particularly with nouns. We skipped lessons and condensed but we did cover all the concepts. We managed to complete the entire book in one year. I'm glad we didn't entirely skip the first half, because much of the information was very helpful. The second half really speeds up and covers a lot of territory so you may find you need to go slower in the second half.
