what do you do?
I have this tightness in my chest, and I have a deep cough, but not very frequently at all. I've been tired and no energy today, but maybe that's b/c of the cough medicine I took this morning. . . .
We have many friends who've ended up with a 3-4 week coughing bug. I soooooo do not want that. I've been taking Emergen-C - what else should I try?
(Chick-Fil-A? Does that work? :D Just hoping. . . . .)

I start taking oscillococcinium, available at health food stores among other places. I take 5-6 pellets hourly instead of the whole vial that is recommended on the package.
I also take zinc lozenges, Emergen-C, and immune support teas. I try to limit or eliminate sugars and dairy from my diet when I am fighting anything respiratory. I rest as much as possible. And, hey, if Chick-Fil-A means not having to cook, do that one night. But, eat really good foods on the others because your body needs good nutrients. ;)

I either take Emergen-C or lots of Vitamin C, echinacea, sometimes zinc.
Definitely Chick-Fil-A. Okay, I've never even been there, but if eating there gives you a respite from cooking, and thus a bit of rest, it might help, right? :D

If I feel anything coming on that feels respiratory, I boost up on echinacea and goldenseal root.

I love Chick-Fil-A. I keep telling my boys that they can work there when they want a part time job. I like that they are closed on Sundays. I think that's awesome!

I sure hope I'm wrong but that is how the 3 - 4 week coughing bug started for me. Take the Emergenc-C, ocillo etc.

We did have Chick-Fil-A - dh is out tonight - and it was a nice treat. Now, do I work on home improvement projects or tuck myself in bed ?

When I feel something coming on, I start taking it 3-4 x's a day, and then I slow down to 1 x daily for a few days longer once I feel better. This has worked wonders for me, and I have fended off illness time and again for the past two years. In fact, I've only been sick once this year and it was a stomach flu that came on suddenly. (Don't know if there was anything I could've taken for that. It just ran it's course.) :o
BTW, Walgreen's version of the same thing (Walborne) works just as well as Airborne, and it is cheaper. I've tried other generic versions that don't work the same though, so I just stick to Walgreen's or the original.

Same here (still coughing). :( Rest as much as you can! I hope you can fight it off whatever it is.

Day of onset
100,000 IU of vitamin a (not beta carotene)

plenty of water

same thing
Day 3
same thing
Day 4
50,000 IU vitamin a
everything else the same
Sometimes, I will add some grapefruit seed extract, if I think it's bacterial.
