Has anyone used this? My son's reading tutor just recommended this and I would love to hear about it from folks that have really used it.

My son used this a number of years ago and he never really progressed with it. It was just an exercise in frustration for him.

I used it with 2 of my children but didn't see a lot of progress. One child hated it so much he would cry at the mention of it. We are currently using Brainware Safari and my children love it. I have seen some really good progress, although we're still in the early stages of use. I ordered it at the Homeschool Buyers Co-op for about $49.00. I think it retails at over $500.

We used this back when my oldest was in 1st grade and then again in 3rd grade. We saw progress but didn't see it carry-over to other things. When he began he could only hold 2 numbers then progressed to 4 or 5 numbers. It's been so long that I don't remember in which setting it was that he improved. Ditto on him feeling quite frustrated by it. He was a graduate of FastForWord (back in '99) and now that was a program where we saw huge carry-over to other things.

TammyWe have brainware safari, we just have not used it much. I will ask the tutor why she thinks brainbuilder will work. She gave me a formal report and this was one of the suggestions she gave.
