Does anyone know where I can buy reading books for a good price? I am looking for Great Books, Classics. A tree grows in Brooklyn, Catcher in the Rye, etc.

You might try the Dover Thrift Editions -- often they are only $1.50 - $2 per paperback book. Here is the Dover website: http://store.doverpublications.com/by-subject-literature-dover-thrift-editions.html Click on the links to fiction, nonfiction, poetry, etc., for the specific lists of what titles they carry.

The Rainbow Resource Catalog also carries many of these Dover Thrift Editions of classics as well -- often *cheaper* than the Dover website!

Another option (but one that takes more time) is to look for used editions locally:
- used bookstores
- "remainders" bookstores (sell the ends of printings that haven't sold for 50-75% off cover price)
- Salvation Army / Good Will / thrift stores
- yard sales
- library fundraiser book sales
- used curriculum sales

And, if you have books you are done with and are willing to "swap" your paperbacks for other ones, you might check out the Paperback Swap website: http://www.paperbackswap.com/index.php

Happy hunting and happy reading! Warmest regards, Lori D.

I don't know where you live but you can try Half-Price Books. yes, i work there but I LOVE the place.

Also, when searching online, you might try fetchbook.info which searches about 120+ used book sites and ranks its finding by price. very handy.

best luck
