Like most of you, I'm trying to "plan" for next year. Well last night I hit a major "brick wall". We're in MOH vol. 1 and I've been so pleased w/ it I just "knew" we would use it for history from here on out. Well, the brick wall came when I realized vol.4 and 5 won't be ready for a while :(

Sooooo, here's the deal! There are things I like about SL (we've used cores K, 3 &4), we used 16 weeks of TOG yr.1....but it was too much for me. So in planning for next year if I start core 7 we will have missed some by just finishing MOH vol.1 this year. What do I do now to get ready for core 7??? But you know... the thing I really like about MOH is "I open and read and we're done". KWIM??? So should I look at something else???

My boys will be in 2nd, 5th and 8th next year.

Ugh!!!! Just when you think you've figured it all out

Just wondering:
Why wouldn't you use Volume 2? That IS out and volume three will be "out" this spring?

I worried about this too and received some great replies. I will try to post my prior thread.

Some people use Guerber's History books from Nothing New Press after MOH.
They also have a christian worldview. They also include a list in the back with literature that can correspond to the various chapters.

I don't have any advice on getting ready for Core 7 or anything...

Best wishes,
Rebecca

Rebecca,
I couldn't get the link to work for me. The main reason I don't want to continue w/ MOH is I'm ready to use something and stick w/ it! If I know I'm going to hit a bump in the road, then I'd like to avoid it now....I'm too much of a planner...silly I know, but I am. My kids also miss the read-alouds from SL, so that's another reason I'm leaning towards them again.

Thanks for the info on Guerber's History books. I'll look into that.

My link doesn't work but if you search Mystery of History you will see it.
