If so, how do you like it?

I used all the print books with my guys. I taught them a modified cursive I created. We love it. It was easy to use, fun for the guys, not too much practice at a time. I will say I wished for more trace first before writing. But I didn't have the slate and other goodies to use with it at the time. My guess is that would take care of the problem I had with it. I love the two line paper. My older 2 still use the narrow line ream for daily work. It really helps the kids to keep the letters the right size.
Do you have any specific questions about it? Oh, and the customer service is wonderful. I have emailed several times with questions and they have been very prompt to reply. Loved it here.

I have used the cursive books with my older son (coordination difficulties) and the print books with the younger (lefty). Both have done very well and the process has been more-or-less effortless.

We used it and it really helped my oldest with letter reversals. It is a great program.:)

the program uses different lines than any other workbooks out there. I had to reteach my ds how to write letters on the 3 line spaces rather than the 2 lines that HWT uses. Not a big deal, but a bit annoying to me.

We're using it for cursive, and it's been great. I like the verbal and visual instructions for forming the letters, and, for once, dd never complains about doing her handwriting practice. Two thumbs up here!

to teach them to form their letters, then we switch for A Reason for Handwriting because I don't like the 2 line paper they use. But you can't beat the instruction on HOW to make the letters.

We like it. My kids don't have swirly beautiful handwriting but it is nice and very legible.

We love it! It really made a difference for a reluctant writer (I mean that in the sense of not wanting to hold a utensil at all). It was gentle yet produced good results. Very nice for us!

I have used HWT for printing. It is easy and fun to teach and learn for the kids. I didn't use the slate or much more than the workbook, but I did sometimes have additional pages I would make myself for additional practice.

I changed to A Reason for HW for cursive bc. I didn't like the style of cursive in HWT (very straight vs. slanted and no loops). I also wanted more 'meaty' copywork. I figure if the children are spending time writing, I want them to write something of meaning - KWIM?

my son has done the K,1st, 2nd grade books and has WONDERFUL handwriting for a 6 y/o boy!!!

my dd did the preK book and has now finished the K book. She still needs work(as expected) and is starting the 1st grade book next week.

I am pleased with the results. My son will start cursive this summer.

overall very cheap and the kids have enjoyed it.

We love it here! We've used it from preschool through the 1st grade book.

DS has quite legible print and enjoys the books.

We'll use it with our younger son for sure.

Love it here. Ds just turned 8 and is just about to finish the cursive book. He has lovely printing and I'm about to start him on cursive writing on other projects. Oh he did the printing HWT as a first grader.

Plaid Dad, is your dd a 2nd grader? About 8? My ds is too and apparently not all kids that young are ready for cursive. My ds did fine though starting with it last fall.

Loooooove it! We have all the goodies. I purchased them when the older two were just starting print and cursive respectively. They always get comments from people about their handwriting. I can't imagine using anything else!

I used it with my first dd when she was little. She is left handed and hated to write. She would literally be in tears until we got this program. I am now using it with my other dd who is 4. She is also left handed but loves to write. Was reversing some letters, but she loved using the chalk board and erasing with the sponge, etc.

Works well for a reluctant handwriter. Switching to different lined paper for the older one was really no big deal at all. She thought she was now using grown up big kid paper when we switched, but it helped to have the bigger lines when she was younger.

I am currently using the cursive with my 6 year old. He was having a lot of trouble with printing so I switched to that, and what a difference. I'm very happy with it.

Was he having trouble with the HWOT printing or did you just begin HWOT with cursive? I ask because I am considering putting my 7.5 yo through the 2nd grade printing book in hopes of improving her printing. I didn't do a formal handwriting program with her for printing and her printing leaves a lot to be desired. She wanted to try cursive this past fall (just after she turned 7) and she picked the HWOT cursive workbook---I was amazed at how much better she does with cursive than printing. I am hoping that going back through the 2nd grade HWOT printing book will help remedy some of her issues with printing, as she responded so well to their type of instruction for cursive. She is still at the copywork stage with cursive rather than having it really generalize to the rest of her writing.

If he was having trouble with the HWOT printing, do you have an idea of what the difference was in terms of the instruction?

We used the printing books and really liked them. But we started on the cursive book and have recently changed curriculums. I didn't like the style of the cursive. The 'm's, 'n's and 'r's looked funny to me. We are now using A Reason for Handwriting. I am happy with the change.

Yes. We first started it because ds was behind in his fine motor skills and the K level has lots of manipulatives all set for you. We've continued it because ds is a lefty. As others have said, the handwriting isn't beautiful and the 2 lines are different than other books. However, after the K level we tried a 3 line method and ds had nothing but trouble with 3 lines even before doing the 2 line--it was too much for him at once. Now he manages both 2 line and 3 line (he's 7). Also, the instructions for HWT are very clear. Because we used the K program we bought the music CD and the songs were very helpful in our case.

We will be using this, as recommended by our OT for preschool. I don't know anything about the actual pencil on paper part, but we will be using the wood blocks and the dough letters for both OT and letter practice. :)

his copy work in Latin and Spelling. We probably will do the other HWT cursive book in the fall as a refresher. DS age 8 really liked HWT.
