Has anyone used this? Did you like it?
Did you require the child to write out answers for all questions? How many essays per movie did your child write?

Here's an older thread that might be helpful: Movies as literature (http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=107771&highlight=movies).

Hi ansbea!
I used this with my son. We both liked this. He hates both reading and writing, even though he does both extremely well. I have had a hard time getting him to read long novels so I thought this would be a good break from our normal literature studies.
It was very good in getting him to develop analytical skills that were useful for both movies and literature. I did not require him to write out the answers to all the questions. We did discuss the questions before and after we watched the movie. I had him write an essay analyzing the movie as if it were a piece of literature.
His goal is to become a filmmaker so this was very helpful to him.
