Curious: How do you use Natural Speller?

I have got to start my 8 year old on spelling, and I already have this resource.

I'll be interested to read this post too. We've been doing Spelling Workout 2, but I thought that Natural Speller looked really neat, so I got it from the swap board. I have a really active DS6.5, so most of our spelling so far has been me giving him spelling words aloud and him spelling them to me while he's playing. I have him read the words and occasionally write them too, but spelling aloud seems to work best for him so far.

I give them list of words on Mon. adn on Mon and thurs, the copy the words 2x, tues they do a wordsearch and wed alphabetize the words. 1st grader gets 6 words a week, 2nd grader (doing 3rd grade spelling) gets 10-12 words and 6th grader gets 16 words. I don't really follow the book, just use the lists, I guess.
