I am just finalizing K5 plans for next year. This will be my first time starting from scratch. I have decided to try OPGTR. Is this LA for K or do you add in FLL?

Thanks for the quick reply. Now all I need is copywork and we are all planned for next year.

Cool! If I remember correctly, it also has some copywork sections in it as well.

Yes, there are copywork selections in each lesson. There are three "levels" of copywork. You choose one for your child to copy. Or, I suppose you could choose more than one. Or, if you're like me, you could choose not to do them at all. :)

I know it's for 1st and 2nd but depending on the kid it could be used in K, if you wanted to.

We've been using it in K. We have just recently began it daily. We were using it every couple of days. It does include copywork. I would add in a handwriting program seperately, though. We use HWT.
I have been including my dd5 in with my first grader, and she's holding her own just fine! I do more narration with her than copywork, since she's just now starting to write. But she enjoys it very much and the review helps her keep up.

because we started it in K and it was great for that. I think if I had waited it would have seemed a little young for my dd.

For us, it was about perfect to start it in Kindergarten, although my son was already reading by then.....maybe start it part way through? I think the style is good for a lot of Kers. You can do most of it orally if you want and I feel like it gave us the grammar background I wanted to go ahead and start Latin in 1st. HTH

We also started in K. My DD had finished her phonics program and moving to FLL was the next step for us. DD is in 1st now and about to finish FLL. FLL is so gentle (my just-turned 4yo can actually recite all of the poetry and almost all of the definitions) that I can't see any harm in a K-er giving it a try!

Well I guess there is no harm in getting it to try. If it doesn't work I will already have it for the following year. He will be an older K because his bday in in December. I will actually be 6 for most of his K year. I really like the samples that I have seen and I think he will really like it. Thank you for all the responses.
