my dh made my account and I hate that it's under my real name...

How do I go about doing this?

Don'tcha just feel like doing that anyway, sometimes? You know, one day wake up and tell your family - "I'm going to delete myself and then come back as someone else, OK?" But have a space of time while your being deleted - maybe spend it in a hotel room alone somewhere in a warm climate:) And then come back prettier, skinnier, a better wife, a smarter teacher, a more disciplined mother, and a better housekeeper.

Sorry, I saw the title of your post and started daydreaming. Obviously I have issues...

Enjoy your deletion process. See you when you come back as someone else. How will we recognize you?

"Ooh, I want to do THAT!" LOL

Sorry, I have no idea how you go about doing that, maybe ask on the admin forum?

But, ahhhh, I might like to try deleting myself and coming back as someone else!

You have to ask admin. and then they get to decide if they let you. :0)

I have this same problem. I typed in the first name I thought of, assuming I could change it later. I asked friends what they thought and one thought I was talking about shots of Vodka. I am talking about shots of espresso. Since I never posted before, I asked the admin to change it for me, I haven't heard anything, so I am assuming it is a "no" or will take a while. I have never been on a forum where you can not change your name before. I might as well start posting under this name, but just know I am not drunk!!

I knew as I was typing it that this would be quite funny so I decided to keep it. Sometimes we need a laugh on Wednesday.

You could conceivably create a second account but then you'd have to use a different email address, and this is not nice for the admin because I guess if everyone did that it would be cumbersome for them to clean it out..?

Me too! My partner once joked that some organization should offer a virtual suicide package including the following services: estate sale, light plastic surgery, legal name change, bodyguard services so that your ex-friends and family can't bug you, and six months in a posh hotel with consultants available to help you decide what you need to direct your new life where you want it to go.

That's what I was going to tell you to do if you were desparate -- the second account thing (and just stop using the first one). Can you change your email address on the first one, so that your second one can have the email address you really want?

Or the latest "reality TV"/competition show! In this case, would it be *good* to be voted off?! (lol) (nt)

If you're concerned about your reputation, you could put an explanation in your signature: "One tired, COFFEE drinking mom" :)

Maybe not the plastic surgery, but there was recently a case in the UK of a man who 'drowned' then turned up with 'amnesia' five years later. The BBC interviewed a consultant who specialises in helping people disappear. He says he does a background check to make sure that they are not avoiding criminal charges or illegally claiming on insurance policies. Beyond that, disappearing is not illegal, and he'll help them do it.

I don't know, I kind of like having a resident drunk. Could we just pretend?
