Could someone explain the difference in the style and structure of writing? And, do you feel that instruction in each is equally important, or that one is more important than the other?
I think I have a grasp on what is meant by structure, but not exactly sure what people mean when they talk about style in writing.

Here's a link that discusses and shows examples of style (http://www.unc.edu/depts/wcweb/handouts/style.html)--both good and bad. Don't judge mine. :D

In the Classical Writing curriculum (Homer level), "style" is broken down into three categories:
1) Credibility
2) Clarity
3) Concision
Various lessons and activities are used to make the writing credible, clear, and concise. Then, the 3 elements are put together, showing when one has to give a little to the other (less concise in order to be more clear, etc.).

Structure has more to do with organization. Style is what makes writing elegant and personal.
