I'm considering getting this for ds1's birthday. I know this was discussed long ago, but do you have a favorite electronic dictionary? And, while we're at it, best/least expensive place to purchase one?
Thanks!
Lisa

Bumping this up for you. (After all, how often does one find one's name in the subject line?) I'm pretty sure that Jean in Wisc has a preference. It's the Franklin electronic dictionary as I recall. Hopefully, she'll see this.

I really like my Franklin SCD-1870A. I believe it's the model that Jean in Wisc recommended, and I really, really like it! It's very useful for read alouds. I thought I paid about $100 for it, but it's much more expensive on Amazon.com now. Here's a link:

Wow! I went back and found my Amazon order from May 2007. I only paid $81.29 for my dictionary, and I got free shipping. Maybe it was featured on special sale that day...

Thanks, Beth. I have the time to wait for the back-to-school bargains. I knew they were pretty expensive. The $81ish price tag sounds very manageable.
Thanks for the help,
Lisa
