View Full Version : Is there a good on-line math program where dd could learn with someone else?

We are having a tough time with math. She is just starting with fractions and gets really *intense* during lessons. I thought that an on-line tutorial might help. Is there such a thing? If so, how does it work and is it worth it?
Thanks.

You could try aleks. It starts at 3rd grade level.

I have not used this program. I don't know it is the type of thing you are looking for or not, but it sounded like it might be an option.

My 13yo 7th grader is using ALEKS this month and really enjoying the set up. I believe this is the start of her third week. I started her on Middle School Math 1 Module (or some wording like that).
She really likes being able to do it herself and seeing the pie graph fill up w/ things she's learned. She also likes being able to review her favorite topics (geometry). Occasionally, if she's not getting something, she has me come sit by her. I read the instructions out loud (so I understand them) and then she'll try another problem. I enjoy sitting w/ her and figuring out the problems in my head while she does them on scratch paper.
I'd like to try time4learning also before committing to ALEKS long-term. But I do recommend the free ALEKS month!
