There's a book called Deconstructing Penguins or some such thing that should be available through your library--that should teach you many of the concepts you need for literary analysis...

You might want to look at Reading Strands. It has sample conversations and a list of literary terms and their defs.

This is a free audio lecture by Adam Andrews, who wrote Teaching the Classics, which really explains how to teach children about the structure of a story (setting, plot, etc). He goes over an example with a picture book, but the technique can be applied to any book.

Well Educated Mind has many of the same socratic questions as teaching the Classics. I think you can also just buy the workbook for Teaching the Classics. You might also see if you can find a used copy of the DVD, or borrow it from a friend, it really is a great DVD.
