I was talking to a mom at the pool today that used to be a lawyer. She told me that we should be able to seek educational accommodations for our son until the age of 21. She gave me the name of a lawyer in a special ed dept at a university to contact.
Our ds was not able to qualify for an IEP at the private schools he attended b/c he had zero problems performing academically in the classroom. (The lowest grade he ever made was a C in an honors English class.) She said it shouldn't matter via the public ed route b/c we should be able to get assistance via job training, etc.
I was just wondering if anyone had gone this route and was familiar with the process for those nearing adulthood.
