Not that a PM should be surprising. But it was from someone called Sharing1, the message was a meaningless hello. I don't recognize the person.

I didn't think the signature line, which I reprinted below was typical of a homeschooler. Would Sharing1 please introduce themselves to the whole board? Or do we have someone fishing for other reasons? (Which is what I really suspect.)

Aww man, I feel left out--I didn't get a PM from a spammer. :(

Yeah, spammer. They signed up just for this--wonder how stupid one has to be to sign up for a board that is heavily moderated, when they should know they'll be removed as soon as they are discovered?

Probably pretty stupid.. But I still feel left out.. man you guys get all the fun.

I received it also! The e-ddress listed looked like some kind of dating service or something. I didn't go to the site but it was called, "direct match". My assumption may be wrong.

Same here, but in French... ;-) And it wasn't quite as nice as 'get lost' although it's the same meaning.

I tried to "share" right back with her. I wanted to tell her about how Jesus died for my sins. :D

I really thought I was part of the hive, you know. I thought I mattered. I thought people cared about me, here, on the internet.

Did I get a private message inviting me to join this new endeavor? No. I was left out in the cold.

That's it. I am going back to my real life.

I got one too. I looked for a way to report a PM as spam, but didn't see a way to do that.

Have you heard of these guys (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=7688138)?

I've never done anything like that, but I thought they were the coolest people I'd ever heard of.

What I want to know is if this person had to enter individual p-mails, or if he/she was able to spam several on this board at the same time.

Mine came at 2:54am (central time).

At first I thought you meant the PM you received was in French :)

That reminds of a Seinfeld where Jerry gets a telemarketer and says, "Why don't you give me YOUR home phone nunber and I can call you back at home when it's convenient for ME" :)
