Give a boy a choice in his reading, and he will learn to love to read, the author says.
I found this definitely to be true. My son, newly homeschooled after a dismal 1st grade year, had learned to hate to read. That first semester I didn't make him read much fiction, but he loved non-fiction and ate it up. After that he would try most things, but I definitely have given him more Henty books than romance novels. :) His younger brothers always loved to read. Coincidentally, they never went to public school.
