I am in total fear to post this, after you all have borne with me for so long on this subject, but I am looking for readers for my book, YET AGAIN, lOl.

In about two weeks I'll be ready for another round of comments. Is there anyone out there who'd care to cozy up to a novel with her big red marker in hand? I've had great luck in the past and gotten some very helpful comments from people here.

Doran, your "Doesn't she ever scream?" comment is forever engraved into my consciousness, by the way, and I've tried hard not to bend plausibility for the sake of forwarding the plot anymore.

I'm mostly looking for plot inconsistencies, slow patches, and "what the heck are you talking about" type comments at this point.

Some caveats:

This is not great literature - it is YA fiction with a fantasy element. There is violence, bad behavior, bad language, guns, kissing, a bit of lust and general mayhem. Some questionable grammar, too. If any of this offends you, you probably don't want to read it.

Any takers out there? Help? Please?

I would be happy to help out.

I can't tell you how much I wish the writer of Eragon had let me edit his book with a red sharpie. :p

That was our experience, too. I read it out loud to the kids and by the time we were a quarter of the way through the kids were trying to get me to let them send paragraphs back to the publishers with all our corrections.

Okay, send me your address at: lenandjennifer @ gmail.com and I'll put you on the list. I don't know the exact date I'll be sending it out - I just know my eyes are starting to cross every time I look at the manuscript, so it's time to take a break and get some input soon. I just need a few weeks first to do some fixes.

Jennifer,

I would loooove to do this! I don't have a ton of experience. But violence, bad behavior, bad language, guns, kissing, lust, etc. You just described a day at my house. I'm an expert! :D Pick me! Pick me!

I don't know what kind of experience I can offer...except that I like reading those genres...and am not easily offended :-) I'll send another email your way!

I wish I could, but I just don't have the time to dedicate to it that your work deserves. Drat! I was really looking forward to it, too. :(

Can I get an advance copy when you publish? ;)

I love to edit! (Seriously.) If you'd like one more, I'm in. :)

If there is room for one more I would loved to read something by someone I actually "know". I promise I won't make it "bleed" as my dh has claimed of my editing his papers for school.

Sounds like you've been working REALLY hard! Mostly I'm just here to say I'm so proud of you and I'm rather awed by your accomplishment. You have mail from me.

Laurel and Stirsmommy, email me at lenandjennifer @ gmail.com.

I better cut it off right here. Thanks everyone!

And Tutor, you know you get a copy! Did you ever get an editor, you poor woman?

Yes, finally. She is very helpful in helping me focus on speaking to a group through a teacher, but she currently works at a private school, the same school my publisher used to work at, so I think their focus is much more on ease of classroom use while mine is accessibility and flexibility for homeschoolers. Thus, why I was hoping you'd be chosen to edit because 1) you have experience with children in homeschool and brick-and-mortar school settings so could provide a nice bridge between the two and 2) I like you. :) Now I am trying to write one book and edit a second... by the end of May. Pray for me. Send good thoughts this way. I could use them.
