Thought I posted this here...

Ok...Our main issue is dysgraphia...and I cant have my son stop over the summer. He looses too much when we stop. I have been thinking a lot and realized I need to go back and work on some different skills.

I need a spelling program. I was looking at a lot of different programs but I havent set my mind on any of them. I wanted to add megawords next year...and I was looking at apples and pears. It seems a lot of families suggest apples and pears. I was looking at aas but it seemed like the wording was too babyish. Otherwise, phonetic zoo A. I just dont know how much this sticks. It seems very similar to the SS we are using now...but it doesnt seem to be sticking. Does SS stick after a long time? We are only on lesson 60 or so. I am not sure if I just need to do it more often. I know SS is a whole lot cheaper then other options.

My son cant stand "babyish" books and that is also going into my selections. I have him using his sister's book...language 3 from abeka. He says it is just too babyish. I am now looking into growing with grammar and hake grammar. He used abeka language 6th grade and BoB jones (Long story why I had 2 but we alternated) last year...and did great. When I went back to figure review...he lost it all. He asked me not to buy any religious books for english. Someone mentioned Shurely English, but I am scared that he will HATE the jingles. The rest of it looks wonderful though. Last year I was looking at AG but I dont know if that would really help him? Or Winston grammar? I would love suggestions.

I still want to stick with IEW...We are working slow through it. That will be our writing. I think I am going to break down our sentences then combine them into paragraphs. Doing a whole paragraph is really hard right now.

I just didnt want to go broke buying everything...but I am thinking...

Growing with grammar 6 Maybe 3 times a week? Or Hake daily?
Apples and Pears spelling B or ....
IEW writing
Wordly wise still using 7 maybe add in megawords

Saxon Math 76

Sonlight finishing core 4 then moving to core 6

Science on Fl Virutal school next year
Typing
Rosetta Stone spanish

We are using with my 2 dysgraphic sons (9th and 7th grade):

Apples Spelling Drill (9th grader who had therapy)
Apples and Pears (used in 6th and now in 7th grade)
Jump In (finishing it with my 9th grader it will takes us about 2 years to get through it but it is wonderful I will start using it with my 7th grader this year)
Wordsmith Apprentice (it is being finished up with my 7th gr. it is okay)

for Grammar I have used easy grammar and daily grams...right now we are just doing DG only, I have decided to not focus on having a "Grammar" program... we will add in editor in chief (for my 7th grader..we have it in the house and therefore I do not have to buy anything) and we will also add in Langauge Smarts (with 7th grader and I have it)

Hope that helps :)
