Does anyone have any suggestions for something I can use to help an 8th and a 9th grader obtain basic reading skills in French?
We tried BJU DVDs and French in Action. They were not getting done.
I think we need a workbook, or alternately, something like Oerberg's Lingua Latina that teaches through reading immersion. They maybe have 10-15 minutes to spend on this a day, and getting them together to watch videos, even short videos, was not working. It needs to be something they can do independently without too much fuss. They are both capable language students, fwiw.
I realized that I'm primarily interested in their being able to read French, not necessarily converse - perhaps this opens up other possibilities? Credit hours earned are not important.
