My teenage son will finish Foerster's Algebra II text in two months. This curriculum seems advanced to me, but is it considered an honor's course?

Yes. Even the publisher calls it honors on their website. I listed it as Honors on ds's transcript and I did include course descriptions the text used. He did all chapters except 11&12. It was never questioned and I figured that if the colleges wanted to know about calling it honors, they could look it up online. I used an honors syllabus that I found online. This was the only class that I called honors.

If my oversight would allow it, I'd definitely call it honors...but they don't:( ah well....If he graduates with Calculus and a good AP score, guess it won't matter much.

Thank you so much for the helpful advice! Sharon in Md, in particular, I have followed many of your threads over the past couple of years. Many times your comments have introduced me to new math and science curriculums I had not thought of (Thinkwell and Paul Foerster, to name a few). Moms like you are what make the Well Trained Mind forum so special!

Especially encouraging as we were struggling tonight with matrices....which we have forgotten how to do....argh! I'm so glad I still have the Thinkwell videos to review....Especially since I sold my Al II book that told us how to do them....
