Anyone ever have a reaction to hair coloring?

I'm doing two skin patch tests from two different products . . . just in case. If I had a reaction, what would it look like?

And, if you have sensitive skin, what permanent products have you had the best luck using?

...was when I was already having a MAJOR allergic reaction to some meds I didn't know I was allergic to and had been taking for six months. Then when I colored my hair, my scalp broke out in hives. Based on that experience, my guess is that if you do react, it will be with a painful red rash.

But under normal circumstances, the coloring doesn't bother me at all.

I never use the permanent color -- just the 6-week kind -- so I can't really recommend a brand.

The 6-week kind looked great on me, for about a week. Apparently, my grays are "resistant," so I'll have to either give this up or try something stronger.
