America: The Last Best Hope by William Bennett

My son found this book at the bookstore and wants to use both volumes as his starting off point for American history. I was wondering if anyone else has used these volumes and what your opinion is of them.

MY daughter really likes it. She has learned a lot. She is a serious student but has ADHD and still it kept her attention.

I will use it with my dc as needed, though they do history & lit. online (Veritas Press), and usually have another textbook assigned. (I wish it was Bennett's book instead!)
