Is there anyway to do this cheaper. I am not going to use the science texts and I do not need the 2nd-3rd grade bundle. I already have God and the History of Art. So, is it cheaper to order the TM from My Father's World but the books from Rainbow Resource?

I have never ordered from Rainbow Resource. Anything I should know?

mfwcurriculumswap. You can post a WTB ad for only what you need. I've had great success posting there. HTH

When pricing the whole package, you end up only saving the shipping costs by ordering from Rainbow. But since there are several books you aren't getting, I would price it both ways. You can order only what you want from MFW. You are not under any need to only buy the package. There are a sometimes things you can only buy with the package though. I think in the CtG year, you have to buy the package to get Genesis for Kids. You may want to check that out as well.

I was in this same dilemma last year when I ordered MFW RtoR. I spent time researching the best prices between Rainbow Resource, Amazon, and Overstock. I ended up only buying the TM from MFW. Rainbow Resource and Overstock.com had very comparable prices, however, if you don't have a $150 order for free shipping at RR, Overstock is cheaper because their shipping is $2.95 no matter how much you order. I also scanned ebay for one or two items.

That said, I didn't end up ordering everything. I bought the books I would need all year and a few others. We have a good library system only a couple miles from the house and I found out that with my teacher card I could get the other books I needed from the library, because we wouldn't need them for over 12 weeks, which is the amount I can keep on a teacher card (6 week check out and then one six week renew). I ended up not buying a few I was going to get for the second semester because the library worked out so well.

So I guess that is a long answer to a short question :o Yes, I think it is cheaper to buy the books elsewhere, especially since you don't need them all.
