Looking for sites with lists of real books to use for science.

Ambleside Online, Tanglewood Education and other CM sites use real books for science.

Have you tried just walking through the 500s and 600s in the library? There are literally 1000s of books on whole topics in even our very small branch library. When we need something different, we get them to order it from the main library. I'm cutting and pasting the dewey decimal 500/600 categorization for you so that you can determine where you want to look for the different topics. (500 is the classification for math and natural science and 600 is more applied technology type science)

They post the books used in their courses on their website. The level II books would be appropriate for the ages you are looking at. I used Bio I last year and am using Chem I this year and have been very happy with the books. They are living books and we have found them to be informative and engaging--glad to have them in our home library. I imagine you could check out Living Learning Books (I think that's the name), the Sonlight catalog, etc. for other titles.
