My ds wanted a giant choc chip cookie for his birthday, but they are so expensive. I found this recipe at allrecipes.com and it turned out great. I thought I would post the link here in case someone else needs a giant cookie.

My only change to the recipe was to use 1/2 tsp salt and substitute 1/2 of the butter with shortening. I also checked it a little early, at 18 mintues, and it was done. I followed the suggestion of one of the reviewers and bought a 16" pizza pan (for $4) at Walmart. It worked perfect and was so cute with a birthday message and some balloons piped on in frosting.

We are getting together for my gf bday on Wed. and I think I am going to make her one too.

That is a cute idea, Amy. We have a hs Valentine skate party coming up. Maybe I'll bring one.

Thanks for the idea!

Thanks for the idea, we are having people over next Friday for a Valentine's party and it will be fun to do for that.

You know every since Amy mentioned making one for Valentine's Day, I have been wondering if you could substitute M&M's for the chocolate chips. It would be cute with the pink/red/white M&M's that they have out right now.

Hmmm, maybe we should have a cooking lesson at school today and test it out.

Maybe I like this new board format after all. I haven't been on the general board because I don't have time to stay with it--moves too fast! But now I can look through the new posts and see quickly what's there. And find things like this cookie....

Thanks!
