Does anyone know of a good resource for a child to learn how to do the different types of writing required for high school? I'm hoping to get something that they can look to when there school work says write an essay on.....then they will have something that takes them through the steps of doing that. KWIM?
Thanks,
Tracy

Maybe Format Writing (http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?item_no=6061297)? or Wordsmith Craftsman (http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?item_no=683200)?
They both cover most types of high-school writing (not the research paper, though).

Do you know if Wordsmith is one that you could pick up and open to the topic you want and go from there? Or does it require that you do it from the front to back, meaning he'd have to do the letter writing lessons before he could do the lessons on descriptive paragraphs.
thanks,

Well, that's what we did!
When my ds used it, we skipped the first part of the book (notes, outlines, letters) and went directly to the second part with paragraph writing. After that we moved on to the essay section in the back of the book.
