I just want to say a few things about the members of this board...

I have to log off for the day. (Note to self: You really, really, REALLY do!) But I wanted to say a few things about the posters here.

I am so in awe of all of you. Reading and posting here has made me check my biases at the door time and time again. I've always thought of myself as a smartypants, but every day that I'm here, I'm blown away by the thoughtful, well-reasoned discussion and generally incredibly intelligent discourse. Take, for example, my secular humanism post. I thought I knew what I thought about the topic, but, sister, was I wrong. I've had my illusions slapped out of me so many times here, I'm lucky I know my own name anymore, LOL!

Anyway, thank you again to all of you who participate here. I think I've learned more in the last two years here than I did in college--literally!

I agree that posters here are incredible, but there's no need to be in awe. After 10 years of wresting in the mud with the pigs at the football board, it's amazing how plite and friendly people around here are. Maybe too much self-censorship; people will hold back on what they really want to say or mean because they don't want to offend.

But on any topic you bring up, or anything that you're going through, there are a lot of posters really informed so you can get a good discussion or good advice.

You just have to read other boards to appreciate how amazing this one is - intelligent, kind, all the things you'd want in friends.
