Hello . Boy its been a while since I've last been on this site. It changed !
Anyways . I am looking for something fun for PreK for my 3rd daughter. She LOVES workbooks , but they HAVE to be school workbooks . She always likes to be like her big sisters . So buying store workbooks don't seem to count for her for some reason .
So has anyone tried the AOP Preschool program ? I've always been one to do preschool on the fly with real life stuff. But this just doesn't cut if for my I -Want -to -do -schoolwork child .
I have 4 daughters. My two oldest I'm homeschooling . I never really used a curriculum for preK so that's why I'm asking if anyone else here does and what you like and recommend .

Rod and Staff's ABC workbooks, Explode the Code primers and Singapore Earlybird Math have all been hits with both my kids.

I was also going to mention the Rod and Staff workbooks. Here are some sample pages to test to see if they pass your childs likeings:

Kumon Mazes and Cutting and Pasting, Explode the Code primers and Singapore Earlybird are popular here with my 4 1/2 yo.

Abeka's K4 workbooks- if you just get the workbooks it's pretty affordable. They are definitely school-y.
MCP Plaid Phonics K is good for preschoolers. It does require writing though, but not much writing.
As far as AOP Horizons- Jessica's blog at Trivium Academy has a good in depth review with some pictures.

Thanks so much ladies ! I'll be going to the book store on the 11th here and will check out the Kumon books and I really liked the looks of the PreK from AOP as well .

I'll also check out the other books too . I want to keep it simple but give her that challenge that she so wants .

my dd will be five in November but next year is preschool, not K as far as I am concerned. But she loves a challenge. I considered putting her in a "gentle" K program but her brain is waaay ahead of her motor skills. She is doing fantastic with mazes and pencil grip and is beginning to draw, but she is not really ready for writing.
I almost bought Little hands to Heaven for special time with Mommy, but she really loves a challenge. She is doing DEL Book 3 and it's a breeze for her, (though I DO highly recommend DEL!!! It has really helped to grow many skills for her.) And I do best with workbook formats.
Oddly enough I am now considering ACE Kindergarten, Abeka K4, and CHC preschool. She wants challenge and I need ease of use. All of these are advanced pre-K programs, that focus on a narrow scope of skills. I like the looks of Horizons too...
I think I'll never decide.
