Vocab from Classical Roots

Anyone use this? What do you like/not like about it? I would be using it for 7th and 9th grade's.

One of my highschoolers is using this (Book B currently) and is enjoying it - as much as any vocab study can be enjoyable :) The only complaint is that there isn't a lot of review and sometimes the activities are a bit skimpy. I'm not sure how much retention is going on except that my DD loves word origins and puts a lot more into it than is required. I did purchase the teacher's manuals for next year (rather than just the answer key) but haven't had much time to look at them yet. I'm hoping there may be more review ideas in those books.

We've used them:

7th grade: A&B
8th grade: C&D

They aren't too time consuming, yet I feel they've been very worthwhile for my boys. My 8th grade twins scored very well in the reading/language portion of the ACT this year.

The roots study has been very good for my kids.

We go through all of the challenge words in addition to the words in the main columns. You have to follow up on the kids to make SURE they are look at and studying the challenge words, though.:001_smile:
