It's been about one decade since the scrapbooking craze took off and I'm just wondering how much scrappin' you moms do. Here are my questions:
1. How often do you scrapbook?
2. How important is scrapbooking to you?
3. How would you describe your scrapbooking style?
4. What drives you crazy about the scrapbook industry?
5. Which scrapbook magazines do you subscribe to?
6. Are you a digital or paper scrapbooker?
7. Do you have a favorite scrapbook celebrity?
I'll start!
1. I rarely scrapbook anymore, but I'm hoping to change this. (If there were only more hours in the day!)
2. Scrapbooking is very important to me because I want to document my children's lives, our ancestry, and our family memories.
3. I'm a very simple scrapbooker. I like uncluttered pages without many embellishments, but I love love love stickers!
4. I can't stand the focus on all the "stuff" that the scrapbooking industry promotes. It's so not necessary! The pictures and the memorabilia are what counts! I was scrapbooking before it was a trend and I didn't have all those fancy, expensive, cluttery gadgets.
5. I just re-subscribed to Simple Scrapbooks and I'm going to order Stacy Julian's "Photo Freedom" book which just came out this month. For me, simple is the way to go.
6. I'm a paper scrapper, but I'm hoping to dabble at digital really soon.
7. I like Stacy Julian and Becky Higgins the best. They both have that uncluttered, simple scrapbooker style.

1. How often do you scrapbook?
Well, before our move I scrapbooked at least one a week. I held it at my house on Wednesday afternoons and once or twice a month I did the 5-midnight crop at my local scrapbook store. Once I get my craft room in order here, I'm sure I'll be back to scrapbooking. Hopefully, I'll find some other people to do it with since it's partly a social activity for me. One of the craft stores here does have a monthly crop and I signed up for March. I've been scrapbooking for 11 years now.
2. How important is scrapbooking to you?
It's very important to me.
3. How would you describe your scrapbooking style?
Eclectic! I posted a few examples of my work on another thread. Here they are:

4. What drives you crazy about the scrapbook industry?
I hate when you have to buy 50 little do-dads and you only want one or two.
5. Which scrapbook magazines do you subscribe to?
Simple Scrapbooks. I subscribed to Creating Keepsakes for a long time but they feature too much digital stuff now.
6. Are you a digital or paper scrapbooker?
Paper.
7. Do you have a favorite scrapbook celebrity?

5. Which scrapbook magazines do you subscribe to?
6. Are you a digital or paper scrapbooker?
7. Do you have a favorite scrapbook celebrity?

2. Very important. For some reason I just can't put photos in an album. I'm working on this.
3. Mostly clean & quick.
4. I don't keep up with the "industry" like I did years ago. I used to subscribe to multiple magazines, watch every CK QVC show, follow every trend, etc. No time now, so I mostly just do my own thing.
5. The only one I subscribe to now is Digital Scrapbooking.
6. 100% digital!!!
7. Becky Higgins & Cathy Zielske are my all-time favorite sb celebs.
Can't wait to see other people's answers!

I used to be a CM consultant and taught people HOW to scrapbook AND find the TIME to scrapbook! Anyway, here are my answers:
1. How often do you scrapbook?
Once a year I go away for a weekend to Sandy Cove for their scrapbooking weekend. If I get more time during the year...it's a miracle
2. How important is scrapbooking to you?
Very important which is why I feel so gosh-darned guilty about not keeping up w/it more!
3. How would you describe your scrapbooking style?
Simple but eclectic.
4. What drives you crazy about the scrapbook industry?
All the details...embellishments, difficult layouts.
5. Which scrapbook magazines do you subscribe to?
NONE...too "busy" for me. I like the CM style!
6. Are you a digital or paper scrapbooker?
Paper b/c I think it's a "dying craft". I think I might move into the digital world, though, for simplicity and actually getting it done!
7. Do you have a favorite scrapbook celebrity?
Um, not really but I do love Rhonda Anderson, founder of Creative Memories. She is such a great person, real, compassionate, etc.

3. How would you describe your scrapbooking style?
4. What drives you crazy about the scrapbook industry?
5. Which scrapbook magazines do you subscribe to?

7. Do you have a favorite scrapbook celebrity?
1. Once every 3 years. :o Sadly, I've not really scrapped since I (a) went digital and (b) had my youngest and (c) moved. It was sorta a trifecta, kwim? I used to have friends over 1x/month and do the big scrapfests, but once we moved I left that support/encouragement.
2. I'd say it's very important, but then - why don't I do it??? Seems like once my eldest dd got to the "stay up as late as mom age", time management went pffffft! for me.
3. Style? When I was doing it, kinda like WTMindy. How many pictures can I get on a page, add a few colored triangles, voila!
4. Nothing I can think of.
5. None. They give me hives.
6. Purely paper. I'd like to try digital, but I don't know.
7. Celebrity? There are scrapbook celebrities? Sheesh!!!
I wish I could be like my friend Nancy - a few years ago, she ditched ALL her scrapbook stuff and went totally digital - as in, just submit a book online and have it printed and bound. She couldn't deal with the guilt, and didn't want to sacrifice her family time to scrap. If only.
When my kids pore through my 12+ albums, it brings HEAPS of guilt on me. Someday, my 3you is going to say, "And where are MY pictures, mom?"
Ah, but at least she has the claim to the avatar :D

1. How often do you scrapbook? I used to scrap once every couple of months, but now I hardly ever get to it (I've taken up painting and that takes up my creative time).
2. How important is scrapbooking to you? Very. I love putting our pictures and stories together so my children will have these memories (and dates) when they are older.
3. How would you describe your scrapbooking style? Eclectic. I love all the embellishments and trendy things. But that's part of why I'm not getting it done right now..... it's just too involved.
4. What drives you crazy about the scrapbook industry? Nothing really, other than I find it hard to keep up with the newest scrapbooking trends and equipment and I can spend way too much money on the stuff!
5. Which scrapbook magazines do you subscribe to? I currently subscribe to Scrapbooks Etc. I subsribed to Scrapbook Trends for years until they got way too expensive for me.
6. Are you a digital or paper scrapbooker?Paper, but I'm just beginning to dabble in digital because of the time issue. We went to Disney this month and it was nice and easy to upload the photos and make a little book for myself and my mom in a matter of minutes.
7. Do you have a favorite scrapbook celebrity?Nope and don't recall knowing any! :)

1. How often do you scrapbook? Until I get my scrapbook room and we sell the store, about 2x a year. We're building a house -- so New Year's Eve will be the next time I truly "scrapbook."
2. How important is scrapbooking to you? Very. From what I want my children to remember (or what I want to remember), to things I want to tell them -- family history and emotional therapy (me).
3. How would you describe your scrapbooking style? Simple, I love cardstock and embellishments. I love metals, I love Jolee's. I love ribbon. I love telling stories. My journaling can get quite lengthy.
4. What drives you crazy about the scrapbook industry? Patterned Paper. Too much already. Alphabets. Seriously, 2 or 3 designer alphas for each paper collection?!? Give me stamps and my Cricut or Pazzle any day!
5. Which scrapbook magazines do you subscribe to? I own a scrapbook store -- I see them all. Scrapbooks etc. and Simple Scrapbooks are my favorites.
6. Are you a digital or paper scrapbooker? Paper. Paper. Paper. I'm digital only for my photos and a bit of journaling. I work on the computer all day -- don't want to sit there for "fun."
7. Do you have a favorite scrapbook celebrity? Heidi Swapp (she's homeschooling in China, btw), Kristi Sikora-Blankenship and Danelle Johnson. This is from hanging out with them... I can't say that their styles are mine. Style-wise, I'm probably closer to Becky higgins

5. Which scrapbook magazines do you subscribe to? none
6. Are you a digital or paper scrapbooker? I actually thought about digital scrapbooking at one time
7. Do you have a favorite scrapbook celebrity? my friend is a person who sells scrapbook stuff; I love her dearly because she never tries to convince me I should do it (I haven't shared my true feelings about it with her, LOL)

1. How often do you scrapbook?
Every week. When I first started I did it for about a year then had kids and well, 5 years passed when I picked it up again. I am now almost completely caught up!!! It's a nice hobby that I can do when I have free time in the house and it gives me a reason to get away a few times a year.
2. How important is scrapbooking to you?
Right now, pretty important. I have 4 months left of 'old' pictures and then I will be working on current year stuff. I love my childhood photo albums and want to have that for my own kids.
3. How would you describe your scrapbooking style?
hmmm, not sure what the right word would be. Is there an official list of styles? LOL I am pretty basic. I focus more on journaling than pretty designs, although sometimes I get inspired by one photo and will do more for it.
4. What drives you crazy about the scrapbook industry?
how quickly they get rid of products I like
5. Which scrapbook magazines do you subscribe to?
none. But I like the Creative Memories one when I do want to see one
6. Are you a digital or paper scrapbooker?
paper here. would like to try digital, but will always do paper...it's my therapy :-)
7. Do you have a favorite scrapbook celebrity?
nope. who are the scrapbook celebrity's to choose from?

1. How often do you scrapbook?
When I'm in the mood I will scrap endlessly for days and then not do it again for weeks.
2. How important is scrapbooking to you?
Very important as I want my dc to be able to have the pictures so that they know who, what, when, where, etc.
3. How would you describe your scrapbooking style?
Not artistic but decorative. I love the journaling blocks, photo mats and albums from Creative Memories. I use a lot of stickers and decorative papers. My layouts usually only take about 20 min or so and are more about color than art.
4. What drives you crazy about the scrapbook industry?
That it can be expensive and I can't find a decent way to organize my stickers without spending tons of money.
5. Which scrapbook magazines do you subscribe to?
I check them out from the library and when I first started my mom bought me two flat rate boxes full of back issues of magazines. I tend to like the pre-computer layouts more than the layouts you see now using the computer. I think they were more whimsical and creative.
6. Are you a digital or paper scrapbooker?
I am a paper scrapbooker.
A question you didn't ask--I would have to say that my favorite album would be the one I did of our Hawaii trip. I really let the pictures speak for themselves and took a less is more approach.

5. Which scrapbook magazines do you subscribe to?
6. Are you a digital or paper scrapbooker?
7. Do you have a favorite scrapbook celebrity?
1. I go in cycles; it's either never or once a month.
2. It's important, but not high on my list when I'm sort of caught up. Right now I'm working on 2007 pictures, so it's not very pressing.
3. Practical. The pictures and journaling are there. You know what happened, but it's not very frilly. That's my personality too, but I also have all boys.
4. Many of the album sizes and/or colors I use have been discontinued over the years. Therefore, my albums look very eclectic on the shelf.
5. None.
6. Paper all the way.
7. Uhhh, no. I didn't know there was such a thing.

1. How often do you scrapbook? Before the death of my fil in 2005 which just preceded this crazy renovation/move lifestyle we've had since the summer of 2006, I scrapbooked annually the week between Cmas and New Year's with my sister and then however often I could inbetween throughout the year which varied from none to monthly depending upon "life". I am REALLY looking forward to scheduling a makeup scrapbook marathon with my sister sometime soon in the room over of my new house to try to CATCH UP!!!! :p
2. How important is scrapbooking to you? Scrapbooking is immensely important to me. I cannot put a price on the value of seeing my girls pull their books from the shelf and spend incredible amounts of time revisiting their special life memories. I can only imagine how much we'll enjoy these books once they're grown and have children of their own!
3. How would you describe your scrapbooking style? Traditional in keeping with original Creative Memories teaching. I use stickers very selectively when I think a sticker has been done with high quality color and design.
4. What drives you crazy about the scrapbook industry? Couldn't really say because of how long I've been "out ot touch"!
5. Which scrapbook magazines do you subscribe to? None anymore but I was published once in Memory Makers. :D
6. Are you a digital or paper scrapbooker? PAPER. I just had a conversation with a CM consultant about digital. I'm pretty unfamiliar with that option but because I can put my finger on some distinct reasons why I don't feel digital would work for me - primarily what I shared in Question #2 - I imagine I'll not be making a switch from paper. In addition to wanting my kids to continue to be able to sit cross legged on the floor and pour over their books (and don't like the idea of having to print copies of pics on 8.1x11 rather than using the actual photograph for this), I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my 12x12 and 12x15 albums because of the volume of pics I like to put on a page. I just am not convinced digital would work for me.
7. Do you have a favorite scrapbook celebrity? Me. :p
Thanks for this poll. I've enjoyed reading the responses!

It's been about one decade since the scrapbooking craze took off and I'm just wondering how much scrappin' you moms do. Here are my questions:
1. How often do you scrapbook? Zero, since I started homeschooling I had no time for it. I love the idea of digital scrapbooking. That is more up my alley and would love to do it when kids are grown.
2. How important is scrapbooking to you?Pictures and taking the pictures are much more important to me than scrapbooking.
3. How would you describe your scrapbooking style?Would love to try out digital scrapbooking if I get the time
4. What drives you crazy about the scrapbook industry? The cost of the supplies and papers. That drives me bonkers. Also the main reason I quit the traditional paper scrapbooking. Too much money!!
5. Which scrapbook magazines do you subscribe to?NONE, out of sight out of mind works best for me.
6. Are you a digital or paper scrapbooker?Would love to get into digital
7. Do you have a favorite scrapbook celebrity?Do not know of anybody
.
There you go. In nutshell, I am no longer considered a scrapbooker. I used to be really good at it before I started homeschooling. No time now!

1. Before we moved, I scrapbooked about once a month with my best friend, and maybe a few other times on my own. Now I have more children, plus I find I am just not as motivated to do it without having someone to do it with!
2. It is very important to me. As others have said, I love watching my kids page through albums and remember things we've done. Each boy has his own little album (with 4 pages per year), and they love those things.
3. My style is "get the page done", LOL. Simple pages, and a lot of pictures per page so I don't have to use too many pages. I use some paper to accent, and some stickers, but that's it. I do journal--that's very important to me, and I love that the kids will be able to see my handwriting when I'm gone!
4. I don't like the emphasis on all the doo-dads in the scrapbooking industry. It's much too expensive for me.
5. I don't subscribe to any now, but I used to get Simple Scrapbooks.
6. Paper only
7. No, I've never heard of any!

It sounds like we're "kindred spirits", Claire. Too bad we don't live closer to one another to motivate each other to get caught up. I, too, have an album for each of my girls (12x12) that I aim to do one page for every 3 months and then an extra for BD celebration. :-)
1. How often do you scrapbook?
I work on my layouts several times a week.
2. How important is scrapbooking to you?
Very. I love scrapbooking and it is a huge stress reliever for me.
3. How would you describe your scrapbooking style?
Clean, lightly embellished with fun accents or titlework. I try to journal quite a bit on my pages and record the funny stories of life, the great little moments I'd hate to forget, and the quirkiness of our lives.
4. What drives you crazy about the scrapbook industry?
How seriously it takes itself. ;)
5. Which scrapbook magazines do you subscribe to?
None right now. I used to follow the industry intensely and subscribed to all the magazines, followed the trends and the trade show releases etc. I'm not really into that at all anymore. Also, I switched from paper to digital so the magazines interest me far less.
6. Are you a digital or paper scrapbooker?
Digital now. I still have some paper projects going but I'm not sure I'll ever finish them. I really prefer digital now.
7. Do you have a favorite scrapbook celebrity?
I'm not a rabid fan or anything, but I do read Becky Higgins' blog and enjoy her idea books.

Okay, I was going to skip this, but I guess I'll fess up that I did this some last year and really enjoyed it..... I haven't been able to do it at all this year but I was just thinking that I'm going to try to get back into it this summer, if possible...... I'm a novice and so don't know that I can really answer your questions.....
"1. I rarely scrapbook anymore, but I'm hoping to change this. (If there were only more hours in the day!)"
My thoughts exactly. Some folks were coercing me to go and do it last year. I need that sort of push to make me MAKE time for it, otherwise I'll never go (we like to go to a local store so that we can purchase things we might need as we work).
"2. Scrapbooking is very important to me because I want to document my children's lives, our ancestry, and our family memories."
Yes, I think it helps to add snippets of info that I wouldn't otherwise do in just a photo album. I like making the memories.
"3. I'm a very simple scrapbooker. I like uncluttered pages without many embellishments, but I love love love stickers!"
This sounds exactly like me!
"4. I can't stand the focus on all the "stuff" that the scrapbooking industry promotes. It's so not necessary! The pictures and the memorabilia are what counts! I was scrapbooking before it was a trend and I didn't have all those fancy, expensive, cluttery gadgets."
I don't even know much about all the stuff and I don't own any of it.
"5. I just re-subscribed to Simple Scrapbooks and I'm going to order Stacy Julian's "Photo Freedom" book which just came out this month. For me, simple is the way to go."
I've never read a scrapping magazine, but this one does sound interesting.
"6. I'm a paper scrapper, but I'm hoping to dabble at digital really soon."
Does that mean creating virtual scrapbooks? I'm a dinosaur, so I'm not even sure..... I'll be doing good to just do the regular type of scrapbook, LOL.....
"7. I like Stacy Julian and Becky Higgins the best. They both have that uncluttered, simple scrapbooker style."
One of my friends (who is an engineer by trade) does fabulous pages! I know no celebrities....

1. How often do you scrapbook? Not very often lately as I have been making more cards, but I love it just the same.
2. How important is scrapbooking to you? Very. It is my favorite pasttime along with making cards.
3. How would you describe your scrapbooking style? Linear, clean, balanced but I like trying new things too. I am enjoying much more white space these days and think I've finally found MY style.
4. What drives you crazy about the scrapbook industry? Too much stuff coming out too soon and embellishments that cost a TON!
5. Which scrapbook magazines do you subscribe to? Simple Scrapbooks, Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbooks Etc, Paper Crafts and Memory Makers (will not sub again -- I hate it).
6. Are you a digital or paper scrapbooker? 100% paper, 8.5x11 or smaller only.
7. Do you have a favorite scrapbook celebrity? Well, these ladies inspire me: Ali Edwards, Jennifer McGuire

1. How often do you scrapbook?
Well, ideally one or twice a week. But since we built a house and moved in the past year, it's been about once or twice the whole year! I hope to get started soon and make some serious progress.
2. How important is scrapbooking to you?
Pretty important, but at this point in my life there's not a lot of time "left over" to devote to it. I love to see my kids looking at their scrapbooks, though. I also love the perspective I gain when I'm working on my scrapbooks.
3. How would you describe your scrapbooking style?
Fairly simple. I love color and paper, but I don't have time for lots of embellishments, and I'm not terribly "artsy". Plus, I like to get lots of photos on a page!
4. What drives you crazy about the scrapbook industry?
The overwhelming amount of embellishments, and the low quality of so many albums.
5. Which scrapbook magazines do you subscribe to?
None!
6. Are you a digital or paper scrapbooker?
Paper, although I do have the new Creative Memories software which I will hopefully crack open some time in the next year! If I was just starting out, I would probably just go with digital. But now that I have all of the traditional supplies, and I love working with paper, it would be hard to switch over completely.
7. Do you have a favorite scrapbook celebrity?
I like Becky Higgins and Stacy Julian's books.
