OK, so now that I have my older guys squared away in all subjects, (still need to buy art. SIGH!) I can turn my attention to my almost 4 and almost 3 yr olds. WHAT DO I DO WITH THEM? Just kidding....

Truly, my question is what order do you teach the child to write letters in? My almost 4yr old wants to do this and traces letters we write very well. He has very good fine motor skills. The almost 3 yr old doesn't have the same control but wants to try anyway. I am creating my own pages with StartWrite for them. Is there a right way to do this?

Also, I just ordered All About Spelling Level 1 for my older two. The almost 4yr old knows all the consonants sounds and all the short vowel sounds thanks to starfall.com. What should I add to it to teach my little guy to read?

And would I be a bad mommy if I waited to introduce math with R&S1 next year for kinder?

Thanks so much.

I have used a variety of writing programs (with little success until I switched to cursive). I notice that many of them tend to group the letters in terms of similarity of how they are formed. So, for example an E and an F are formed in a similar way. And then some programs just go in ABC order.

We are using HWT cursive. They started off with "c". They call it the magic c because it is the starting point for a lot of other lower case cursive letters. And then they work from there. The capitals are not covered until the end because they simply are not used as much as the lower case letters.

Thank you, it does. I guess I'll go buy a TM for HWT and use that as a guide.
