Does seaweed have a shelf life?

I have old nori - the big sheets of seaweed you roll Sushi in. It might be really old. I don't remember - maybe 6 - 8 years. I guess maybe I should pitch it? I'm having a massive decluttering day afternoon.

If it is opened it certainly has. It soaks up moisture within hours. It should really be eaten as crisp as possible. Once it has opened it can be stored in the freezer. You can toast it to recover some of its crispness too.
I think yours sounds a bit old even sealed but I don't know for certain. Doesn't it have a best before date?

Thanks. It was closed and had a little moisture absorbing packet. I don't think there was an expiration date, but the package is from Japan. I pitched it, but it still had the price stick on it and it had cost $9.99 so that hurt! That's what I get for not making my husband's favorite rolled sushi for so long!
