Is anyone familiar with this curriculum? I was wondering how thorough it was in comparison to R&S grammar. Thanks!
Yes, it is not reallly comparable to R&S. It teaches terminology and appllication, but in a much less systematic, more natrual way. It has picture study, writing assignments (along the line of prompts really good ones, imo and fable/narrative rewrites but without systemic instruction how to do it--not like WT, IEW, CW) . There is dication, poetry memorization and copywork. There is conversation and dialogue practice, how to conversely politely and intelligently about poetry, paintings, small talk, etc. NO, diagramming or workbook excerices, more in the way of finish the sentece with a proper word. a correctly....hth there are some sample pages at hillsideeducation.com and maybe at CBD. Lost Classics also published this, hillside published this recently with color and a few changes. Anything else more specfic?

I like Serl's books a lot and use them alongside my primary grammar text. They can certainly be used alone, as well!

to a review for the lost classics edition--hillside's are pretty new reprints. By and large, I hear they are similar, excepting some updating of language, conversation topics, color added, and a few Catholic references, as that is hillside's orientation. and from what I can gather, it is more along the lines of virtous and noble personhood rather than theology, but again, that's what I hear--not ever seen it personally. It appears that H is reworking the latter portion of the ILL book, can't speak to that, sounds very nice, though. Their upper level book, Lingua Mater has samples online, so you can sort of tell the "feel" behind it. HtH

I have both PLL and ILL and really like them. I plan on using them with my dd when she is old enough. There is something about the simplicity and wholesomeness of them.

Hillside's PLL has two saint's quotes which are motivational and 1 Immaculate Mary poem that can be skipped.
