Torah Home Education Conference, June 13

Some of my readers might be interested in this relatively new resource for home educators:

The general home-school movement began in earnest over three decades ago, and in the non-Jewish world, conferences, curriculum fairs, cooperative learning and support groups abound. This extensive network of support has been invaluable to many parents, particularly those new to the idea of home education. However, it was not until the recent founding of the Torah Home Education Conference that the unique needs and interests of Orthodox Jewish families have finally found expression in a national venue.

The conference will take place on June 13, 2010 on the second floor of the Park Heights JCC, 5700 Park Heights Ave., Baltimore, from 9 am – 5 pm. The workshop schedule is filled with thought-provoking lectures; keynote speaker for the event will be Rabbi Daniel Lapin, best-selling author and sought after radio and television guest. Child care is available. For more information or to register, visit www.jewishhomeschooling.wordpress.com, call Alissa at 410-963-2977, or email srayvy@yahoo.com.

One Response to Torah Home Education Conference, June 13

  1. Sharon Edwards says:

I was not aware of this resource, but I did notice at the Arlington, TX bookfair last weekend that there were several booths that seemed to be targeting Jewish homeschoolers. That was the first time I had noticed anything particularly for that audience.
