Ants
Alicia’s mother writes, “I was proud of Alicia as this is one of the first times that she narrated! She also drew a great queen ant picture and labeled all the parts.”
ANTS
by Alicia, almost age 6
Ants are insects. They have a head, thorax, and abdomen. They have two antennae. They smell, feel and wave their antennae around. Ants have six legs and a hard exoskeleton.
Ants have eggs. The queen ant lays them. Father ants die after they mate. Larvae hatch from the eggs. The larvae spin a cocoon around them. This is called a pupa. Next the ant comes out.
